Our recycled Christmas decorations are in! This year saw another brilliant effort from a huge number of students in the school and our judges have a tough job ahead. Eek!
Congratulations to our school champion from this year's Recycled Christmas decorations competition. Jude went to the celebration ceremony in County Hall, Dun Laoghaire with other school champions and An Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Tom Murphy. The ceremony was given a segment on RTE News 2day too which may be viewed here. Roberts of Dalkey have kindly allowed us to display the rest of the wonderful entries to the school in their window for Christmas. The Green Schools Committee put these up last week and it was a great chance to show the community our Green Schools work in the school. Take a look at the pictures below to see the decorated window and we would like to thank Roberts again for their help and the hot chocolates! :) Our recycled Christmas decoration deadline was today so our decorations are all in! Thank you to everybody who has taken part. There are lots of fantastic decorations and plenty of creative ideas for recycled materials on show. Judging will take place on Monday 27th November and the winner will be announced at assembly by our Litter and Waste team.
We are running our recycled Christmas decoration competition in school again this month with our winner going to a Christmas ceremony in Dun Laoghaire County Hall. Last year, our remaining decorations were put on display in Roberts of Dalkey by our Green Schools committee (picture above!). We look forward to seeing the creativity in our school again and it is a great way to show how simple things from around the house can be reused as wonderful decorations! The deadline for entries to Mr Smith is Friday 24th November. Get decorating!
We are holding a competition for the best slogan on the topic of biodiversity. All entries must be in by Friday, 6th of October 2017. Slogans should be short, snappy and easy to remember. To help you out here are some examples:
