Our Wheelbarrow Gardens were on show at this year's Dalkey Creates Festival. This year our wheelbarrows were full of vegetables and herbs such as broccoli and parsley and along with the wheelbarrows from other local schools, they made a wonderfully colourful and vibrant display at Dalkey Church.
Our Green Schools committee delivered our Wheelbarrow Gardens down to the Dalkey Church gardens where they were displayed with barrows from six other local schools. They made for an amazing display and were admired by many passers by. We really enjoyed the experience overall and would like to thank Anna Fox from the Dalkey Creates festival and the wheelbarrow sponsors for getting us involved with this project. Take a look at the pictures below:

Our third wheelbarrow has been filled with some new, colourful plants. Check out the pictures and the plant names below.
We completed the planting of mustard seeds and green manure in our second wheelbarrow which can be viewed in our school garden. The Wheelbarrow Garden is part of an initiative for the Dalkey Creates Festival in October. Our wheelbarrows, along with others planted and tended to by local schools, will be wheeled into town at midday on Friday 20th October and will remain on view in Dalkey Church Garden over the festival weekend. We are really looking forward to seeing how our seeds develop over the next month!
As part of the Dalkey Creates Festival, we are growing 'Wheelbarrow Gardens' along with other groups in Dalkey. In a few weeks time, we will bring these wheelbarrows to the church grounds to display alongside the other colourful barrows.
