This is our updated habitat map of the school which clearly shows the work we have done in increasing biodiversity on our school grounds over the time we have been working on the biodiversity flag. Look at our year one habitat map below and you will see the difference we have made!
We added some more biodiversity equipment to our school grounds as part of our work on the Biodiversity theme. We added an insect block, a bee and bug biome, an insect house, a mini bug hotel, a ladybird tower, an urban bee/insect nester and two new birdhouses to the school ground. Adding equipment to the school grounds to encourage greater biodiversity in our school gardens and grounds was one of the main aims of our Action Plan and our Green Schools committee Biodiversity team will observe our new equipment to record any ways in which it helps to increase biodiversity in our school gardens.
